XAMVOLO FEEL GOOD

Neo-soul is one of those genres that’s really coming into its own, with the likes of Thundercat and Anderson .Paak continuing their rise into stratospheric popularity. One emerging talent who deserves to be up there is Liverpool-based crooner XamVolo, who combines a hedonistic selection of UK R&B, old soul and improvised jazz throughout his music. Exercising his writing and producing abilities on new single ‘Feels Good’, the 23-year-old musician takes a contemporary twist on erupting horns, smooth-talking basslines and swinging finger snaps of a late-night jam session with interlaced trap beats and his slick R&B vocals. The purpose behind this intoxicating mixture is revealed by Xam Volo: "I wanted to capture a feeling.. That headspace you’re in when it’s 4am at a house party in a neighbourhood you’ve never been to.. That moment when you slowly realise you’ve spent the last 40 minutes on the couch staring at the vinyl stacked next to the TV. When you find yourself wading from smoke-filled room to smoke-filled room, talking about everything and nothing to nameless people, drinking nameless drinks from bottomless cups, heedless, certain of nothing except the fact that – for once – nothing matters. That’s the vibe, it’s a good feeling." - HT
